A genetic walk through the origins of the virus in Hong Kong, the reemergence of the virus in a series of Chinese patients, use of anonymous cell phone data to determine the effectiveness of social distancing in Italy, structural analysis of spike proteins suggests a second target, and an exhaustive look at everything that changes in a patient's blood when the virus is present.
- A tour de force of genetic epidemiology tracks the strains of the virus as it spread through Hong Kong down to the level of a hotpot party and a Buddhist worship hall that spread the disease.
- A cases series from China describes 25 cases that converted from virus negative to virus positive after discharge. The results call for a longer period of negative testing before cases are declared virus free.
- Italian researchers used cellphone data to evaluate the effectiveness of the lockdown in reducing travel and interactions. They demonstrated a 50% reduction in trips between provinces, 50% reduction in average range of local movement, and a drop of 47% in the number of close contacts at a national level.
- A structural analysis of the SARS-CoV-2 surface proteins suggests that they may also interact with the CD26 protein on T-cells to inhibit immune response.
- A detailed study of proteins and metabolites in Covid-19 patient sera may provide insights relevant to the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of the disease.

- The Question of Chlorquine A review of the history of research into the use of the hydroxychloroquine to treat Covid-19 offers insight into the controversy and explains why we simply don't know if this is a a safe and effective treatment.
