Responsible to the MAX!
My morning feeds are full of everyone talking about NetDocuments foray into the world of artificial intelligence. Based on Microsoft Azure OpenAI Services, the new MAX tools (ndMAX - PatternBuilder MAX, Extract MAX and more) integrate with the document management system to take it to the next level. As NetDocs customer I'm excited by the possibilities. What is perhaps more interesting from an industry point of view, is what's missing from all the blog posts - any even passing mention of iManage. Maybe it's just early yet, but I would expect direct comparisons to the AI tool, RAVN, that iManage bought back in 2017. Aside from integration issues, I haven't heard much about RAVNs integration into iManage. Read more at:

Naked in a lost cave?
I found Seb Kowalski's post on organizations fascinating. He sets the tone right out of the gate, "Organisations generate rules and guidelines to govern behaviour and to avoid problematic outcomes, but over time these rules can chip away at the sense of ownership, autonomy and accountability that we want to see in a modern workplace." No one knows more about organizational rules than those of us working in law firms. For more about this, "naked streets" and "naked organizations," you need to read more at Post*Shift: Getting lost in the organisational cave

Book Club
Maybe I am weird, but I think Knowledge as a Feeling: How Neuroscience and Psychology Impact Human Information Behavior may have just made it onto my reading list. Dr. Troy Swanson says his book centers "on the feeling of knowing which is a mental sensation-i.e., a feeling-that offers a metacognitive evaluation of what we know. The way we 'know' something is that we feel that we know it." I am intrigued enough to read more. Are you?
